Kevin Grevioux reprises the role of Lucien’s enforcer and right-hand man in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
, a character he wrote for himself in the first Underworld movie.Grevioux has been seen in such films as The Mask, Steel, Congo, Tim Burton
‘s Planet of the Apes, The Hulk and Men in Black II.The original Underworld was Grevioux’s first produced writing credit. He came up with the original premise and wrote the original screenplay with director Len Wiseman
, launching the Underworld franchise. Using Romeo and Juliet
as an archetype, Grevioux, a former microbiologist with a background in genetic engineering, actually based Underworld on his experiences with interracial dating and the tension that it often causes. He also brought a scientific element to the world of vampires and werewolves by basing vampirism and lycanthropy on a viral mutagen rather than the mysticism typically associated with these two mythical creatures.Grevioux is also an avid and prolific writer in the comic book/graphic novel world. He owns and runs two comic book studios, Astounding Studios and Darkstorm Studios. The Astounding Studios imprint (www.astoundingstudios.com) produces all-ages titles such as Valkyries, Njuma, Guardian Heroes, The Atoms Family, The Toy Box, Mighty Girls, The Vindicators and The Hammer Kid. The Darkstorm Studios imprint (www.darkstormstudios.com) is a more mature line that produces the books Aliu Rex, Darkstorm, Thanatos, The Spook, Battlesphere, Uzan the Mighty, Bison and Black Ops.Grevioux also writes for entertainment giant Marvel Comics, including such characters as Spider-Man, Iron Man, Dr. Strange and Young Avengers.
